Alpacas Humming Sounds
El Condor Pasa - PERU

Alpacas

The Alpaca herd consists of two Suri alpacas, and four Huacaya alpacas. Their names are Zydeco Man, Taj Mahal, Marley, Colorado de Oro, Risky Business, and Rroyal American Freedom. This male herd is used for their luxurious fiber, and fertilizer sales. Their food source is orchard hay, and supplemental pellets. Alpacas first originated in the beautiful mountains of Peru thousands of years ago. The alpaca sound effects were recorded in December 2017 from the above herd humming.

  1. Huacaya (wahKIah) make up about 90% of the entire alpaca population. This type of alpaca has very fluffy, soft fleece which makes these critters extremely cute.

  2. Suri (SOOree) have long, silky, shiny fleece (hair) that falls in graceful locks from their sides. Their fleece is extremely fine and is used to make very soft, delicate fabrics.
